Type Three pieces: Kobra with two heads.  One side was broken and glued again.

 

  The Mahlia-Kond live in the area of Orissa in the north-east of India.  From the middle of the 19th till the beginning of the 20th century nomadic blacksmiths manufactured these statues  for the Kond in cire perdue (lost wax) technique.  

                                                                                                                              The core is made out of clay.
