Type Peacock. This figure was put on top of a wooden pole.

 
  The Mahlia-Kond live in the area of Orissa in the north-east of India. From  the       middle of the 19th till the beginning of the 20th century nomadic                               blacksmiths manufactured these statues for the Kond in cire perdue (lost wax)technique.       

                                                                                                                                   The core is made out of clay.
